A church in Richmond, London, paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on her platinum jubilee by ringing its bells on February 6. Footage streamed on Facebook by the Rev Wilma Roest shows the bells ringing at St Mary Magdalene Church in Richmond-Upon-Thames. February 6 marks 70 years since Queen Elizabeth was crowned, following the death of her father, King George VI. In her Accession Day message, the monarch celebrated the “extraordinary progress socially, technologically and culturally” over the last seven decades, remembered her late husband, Prince Philip, and expressed her hopes that her jubilee would bring people together to “reflect on the positive developments in our day-to-day lives that have so happily coincided with my reign.” Credit: Wilma Roest via Storyful
