Emergency services were called to the dramatic scene of a burning sailboat near Oak Island, North Carolina, just before midnight on February 27. Footage uploaded by Oak Island Water Rescue shows emergency services attending the burning 40-to-45-foot sailboat in Safe Harbor South Harbour Village, near Oak Island. The Oak Island Fire Department, who also attended the incident, said on their Facebook page that one person, who had tried to put out the blaze before firefighters arrived at the scene, was taken to a hospital due to smoke inhalation. The fire department said on Facebook that the flames, which had completely engulfed the boat by the time firefighters arrived, were under control by 1:53 am on February 28.
