Drivers found themselves stuck in several inches of snow in Toronto after a winter storm struck southern Ontario on Monday, January 17. The Toronto Transit Commission said the majority of its fleet of buses were stuck in the snow. Several highways were closed due to stalled vehicles. As much as 45 centimeters (17.7 inches) of snow accumulated in Toronto. The storm prompted a blizzard warning for much of the city.
