Karl Stefanovic reveals his entire family was struck down by Covid during the summer break as he opens about their ‘awful’ experience during return to TV
The Today show host confirmed reports he and wife Jasmine caught the virus while on Queensland‘s Sunshine Coast earlier this month, adding the entire family were struck down.
Monday’s program began with co-host Allison Langdon commenting on how ‘croaky’ her colleague still sounded.
‘I am a little croaky. The last couple of weeks, going back to January 3 or 4, the whole family tested positive,’ Stefanovic told viewers.
‘The whole family went down with Covid-19.’
‘It was a bit awful to tell you the truth at times, but we’re all clear now.
‘We got through the whole thing, and look, they say it’s mild, but it’s pretty intense in parts.’
He added he had been given the all-clear to return to work after undergoing rapid antigen tests.
“We’re all clear and thankfully for you, I’m back,” he told viewers.
Stefanovic said he would share more about his ordeal later in the program.

The Daily Telegraph reported on Saturday that the 47-year-old and his wife Jasmine tested positive on January 2 while staying at their Noosa beach pad.
It comes after Channel Nine distributed a press release on Friday confirming the Today co-hosts’ would return to the program as scheduled.
‘Off come the boardies while the beach hair is combed away, and in come the suits and early morning alarm, as TODAY hosts Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon return to television screens this Monday, January 17.’
