Sky News host Peta Credlin says the decision of the Labor caucus not to oppose the religious discrimination bill in the House of Representatives is a “cunning tactic”.
It comes as the Labor caucus said they would continue seeking amendments to the controversial bill to ensure LGBTQIA+ students and staff are protected.
“By passing it through the lower house, all those Labor MPs in those religious communities will be able to say, hand on heart at the election, ‘I voted to support religious freedom’,” she said.
“All the Labor senators, who I predict will vote against it, they’ll tell the activist groups we’ll kill the legislation.”
