Police and a good Samaritan rescued a fisherman who partially fell through the ice on the frozen Case Lake in Franklinville, New York, on February 26, New York State Police said. Trooper Joseph Butler Jr. arrived at the scene with a rope, and was assisted by another ice fisher who walked out on the lake to fasten rope to the victim, according to New York State Police. The man was pulled to shore, and officers removed his wet clothes and wrapped him up in blankets, according to police. Police said he was treated at the scene, and was transported to Erie County Medical Center. New York State Police published this bodycam video showing the rescue on Facebook, and said that the “quick actions of the troopers, sheriff’s deputy, ice fisherman and emergency medical personnel likely saved the victim’s life.” Credit: New York State Police via Storyful
