Hospital staff in Kegalle, Sri Lanka, joined protesters across the country in voicing their dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the ongoing economic crisis on April 4. Footage streamed on Facebook shows staff from Teaching Hospital Kegalle gathered outside the hospital buildings holding placards and chanting. Demonstrations were seen across the country on Monday, as President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his brother, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, attempted to stabilise the country’s government after the resignation of the cabinet and the governor of the central bank.
