The New South Wales government has announced an independent inquiry into the recent floods.
Former NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller will lead the inquiry with Planning Commission Chair Professor Mary O’Kane, who was the state’s inaugural chief scientist and engineer from 2008 to 2018.
The pair will look at the state’s preparedness, recovery and response to the emergency.
Public consultations are expected to take place in flood-affected communities like Lismore.
An interim report is due by June 30.
