Sky News host Rowan Dean says actress Goldie Hawn has written an article warning of the trauma inflicted on children during the pandemic.
“Writing in the USA Today this week, comedian Goldie Horn warned that thanks to COVID an entire generation of children is in the midst of a national trauma that could very well surpass 9/11 and approach the heightened terror of the Cold War years,” Mr Dean said.
“She wrote that thanks to social distancing, school closures and forced mask use, and so on, kids are afraid of people, spaces, even the air around them – a level of constant fear not seen in decades,” he said.
Ms Hawn also wrote that in early 2021, emergency room visits in the United States for suspected suicide attempts for adolescents were notably higher compared with the same time period in early 2019.
“There are so many questions that must be answered, and those who have caused so much damage and distress to so many lives and livelihoods over COVID must be held answerable for their actions,” Mr Dean said.
