Australia is set to roll the dice on Ellyse Perry for the Women’s Cricket World Cup final in the biggest selection gamble of the tournament.
Australia’s red-hot women’s cricket team finally gets its day of redemption in Sunday’s ICC Women’s World Cup showdown with England.
Australia has made no secret of its desire to make up for their shock elimination at the 2017 World Cup and get their chance to dethrone defending champions England when the match begins from 12pm at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

Australia is the top-ranked ODI side in the world and head into Sunday’s final the hot favourite.
The Aussies have won their last seven clashes against England, having not lost to the old foe since October 2017.
Mystery surrounding Ellyse Perry
Star all-rounder Ellyse Perry is on track to return to the Australian women’s line-up just in time for their World Cup grand final clash with England on Sunday albeit as a specialist batter.
Perry has been missing from the unbeaten side after leaving the field with back spasms during Australia’s win against South Africa on March 22.
Captain Meg Lanning said on Saturday, Perry was a “pretty good” chance after impressing during a tough training session.
She goes into the final without testing how her back would hold up bowling and she has only been put through her paces in the nets.
Perry has put on 146 runs across her five innings so far this World Cup.
With Perry likely to be named in the 11, all-rounder Annabel Sutherland would likely be the unlucky omission from the side.
