A powerful winter storm swept over the northeastern United States on Saturday, January 29, bringing more than a foot of snow to parts and near-hurricane strength wind gusts. The National Weather Service, which classified the storm as a “bomb cyclone,” said 16 inches had been recorded in Tuckerton, New Jersey, by 11am on Saturday.
