An overnight warming center set up in Aurora, Illinois – just west of Chicago – would remain open until January 30, the city said, as a wind chill advisory remained in effect on January 26. According to the National Weather Service, areas west of Chicago could see wind chills as low as -30 degrees Fahrenheit (-34 Celsius). “Limit your time outdoors, if possible, and dress in multiple layers from head to toe,” the weather service advised.
