A young couple lucked out when they emerged as the only bidders at the auction for a renovated Collingwood home.
A pair of lucky buyers scored the keys to a new home after they emerged as the only bidders at a Collingwood auction.
The 128 Easey St abode went under the hammer on Thursday night via an online auction.
And despite there being “no shortage of people looking,” only one party put up their hand to bid.
“It was a one buyer affair,” Jellis Craig Fitzroy auctioneer Michael Amarant said.

The contemporary three-bedroom, two-bathroom Victorian was originally listed for $1.275m-$1.35m but passed in with the sole bidders in the box seat for negotiations.
It sold soon after, to the couple, for $1.36m.
Mr Amarant said the new owners were “a young professional couple looking to move into the area”.
“That’s the demographic for a lot of people looking through Collingwood,” he said.
“That’s what the suburb accommodates pretty readily — people with half a camp in lifestyle and half a camp in family.”
He added that there had been a lot of interest in the property throughout its campaign.
“There’s no shortage of people looking around but a lot of people are also researching the market for the year ahead,” Mr Amarant said.
“So there’s that combination of active buyer interest and wider curiosity.”
The stylish two-storey property featured a north-facing backyard and entertainment area leading into the home, automated Velux roof windows, high ceilings and off-street parking.
It is also nearby iconic Smith St, the CBD and Victoria Park Station.
